Library Liaison Duties:

Each librarian is assigned to specific colleges/academic departments to serve as the Library Liaison for that college/department. Library liaisons serve as the library representative to academic departments. They are responsible for:

  • purchasing and recommending the purchase of library materials (ebooks, databases, etc.) for subject areas within their assigned colleges/departments,
  • updating and maintaining Research Guides within their assigned colleges/departments,
  • and communicating any library changes/updates affecting academic programs.

Library liaisons often attend college or academic department meetings in order to stay up-to-date on the changes occurring within the academic areas and to communicate any library news or resources affecting academic areas.
