MidTerm Report- Annotated Bibliography

To assist with the MidTerm Report, this page will 

  • Help you locate at least four professional articles in the library's computer science databases. 

Top Computer Science Databases

Research Development Paper

Research Topic:

  1. Choose a topic in the field of testing directly related to the material you will be studying in this course. You should choose a topic about which you have little to no knowledge.

  2. Conduct research to find at least one professional article (in either an academic journal or a reliable professional publication) related to your research topic. Use the Franklin Library databases to conduct your research. For specific, subject-based research, use Databases by Major/Course-Computer Science. Accurately record the citation information for the article(s) in accordance with APA citation and referencing guidelines.

  3. Inform your professor in a brief document about the topic you decide to choose. Include the following information about the topic:

    • Why you wish to research it;

    • What skills you hope to learn by researching it;

    • How you believe researching the topic will enhance your learning during this course; and

    • The reference information for the article supporting the topic.

MidTerm Report:

  1. Conduct research to find at least four professional articles (in either academic journals or reliable professional publications) related to your research topic. Use the Franklin Library databases to conduct your research. For specific, subject-based research, use Databases by Major/Course-Computer Science. Accurately record the citation information for the article(s) in accordance with APA citation and referencing guidelines.

  2. Summarize the article. Your summary must demonstrate your mastery of the content and must be written in your own words. Therefore, simply paraphrasing the article abstract is not acceptable. The summary must include the following items (in roughly the indicated proportions):

    1. A summary of the content and significance of the article (70-80%)

    2. A discussion of how the article fits into the larger scheme/context of your research paper (20-25%)

  3. Include the research article in your (growing) list of references in APA style.

  4. You must write this paper in accordance with APA requirements for papers at Franklin University:

    1. Include the required elements in your paper.

    2. You are required to use appropriate APA in-text citations and referencing for this assignment. Use the current edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual, to properly format in-text citations and a reference list to accurately cite the sources of information that you use to write your assignment. Failure to use proper citations and references is plagiarism and could result in a charge of academic dishonesty.

    3. You are required to use appropriate APA document formatting for this paper. Consult the APA Style Guide for specific information.

  5. Submit your paper to Turnitin.com for review. Assignments that are not submitted to Turnitin.com will not be accepted for grading.

    1. Review your Originality Report from Turnitin.com.

    2. Make appropriate changes to your paper.

Proofread your assignment carefully. Improper English grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, or spelling will result in significant point deductions.

Research Paper:

  1. Write a 10-page paper (minimum length) in which you discuss the research that you conducted during the previous weeks. In this paper, you should synthesize your findings from the four Field Research papers into a coherent presentation of your research. Your paper must contain, at a minimum the following elements:

    1. Title page

    2. Abstract (maximum 150 words)

    3. Introduction

    4. Literature Review

    5. Discussion

    6. Conclusions

    You must write this paper in accordance with APA requirements for papers at Franklin University:

    1. You are required to use appropriate APA citation and referencing for this paper. Use the current edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual, to properly format in-text citations and a reference list to accurately cite the sources of information that you use to write your paper. Failure to use proper citations and references is plagiarism and could result in a charge of academic dishonesty.

    2. You are required to use appropriate APA document formatting for this paper. Consult the APA Style Guide for specific information about document formatting.

     

  2. Submit your paper to TurnItIn.com for review:
