Even when you are on campus, your phone or mobile device may not be connected to the Franklin network. To connect, locate the "Franklin" Wi-Fi network and login with your myFranklin username and password.
Most library databases, ebooks, and ejournals are licensed for current Franklin students, faculty, and staff only. Database and journal publishers often determine your access rights based on the IP address of the device you are using to access their site. Using the "Franklin" Wi-Fi network will establish your IP address as affiliated with the University.
The standards for authentication on mobile devices are evolving.
- Some devices use your myFranklin email as your authentication.
- Other publishers require you to create a personal account from an on-campus computer before accessing the mobile site. Your login credential then become your username and password for the mobile app or site.
- Some publishers use device pairing, usually by sending you an authentication email after you log in to the site. Pairing may expire after 6 to 12 months, after which you will need to pair your device again.
Read the instructions for each app carefully and be sure to contact us if you have any questions about access.
