A SOAP note is a form of written documentation many healthcare professions use to record a patient or client interaction. Because SOAP notes are employed by a broad range of fields with different patient/client care objectives, their ideal format can differ substantially between fields, workplaces, and even within departments. However, all SOAP notes should include Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan sections, hence the acronym SOAP.

The field of nursing requires a great deal of swift, accurate writing. You will need to fill out reports and charts correctly and completely and record your interactions with doctors and patients fairly.

Writing proficiency is imperative in Criminal Justice. Most careers in this field exist in the context of bureaucracies. In these formal organizations, policies, procedural guidelines for specific practices, memoranda, press releases, research reports, and communications with judicial and legislative bodies are all forms of written media. Thus, leadership ability and program development are closely related to writing skills.

What constitutes effective criminal justice writing? Correct spelling, punctuation, and usage certainly top the list. It is much harder to describe appropriate sentence patterns, vocabulary, tone, and style.

The Project Proposal Document (PPD) is often confused with a requirements document. The audience for a requirements document includes technical professionals to construct the solution. On the other hand, a PPD is intended for non-technical decision makers, such as company owners, executives, managers, and other business professionals.

Many computing graduates find that, once they enter the profession, writing is a surprisingly large component of their daily work. Researchers expect to have to write papers, book chapters, grant applications, and so on; while computing professionals expect to write material such as project and code documentation, manuals, and acceptance records. However, they might well also find themselves having to write other expert material, such as project proposals, technical assessments, tenders, purchase recommendations, reports to managements, descriptive material for the Web, or any of a wide range of kinds of document that are required in large organizations.
