Turnitin

Information for Franklin University students about how to use Turnitin.

What is TurnItIn?

Turnitin is an online service which helps instructors make sure that student assignments properly cite references, and don't contain plagiarism.

Turnitin compares assignments to three databases which it keeps updated. These databases contain web content, proprietary content from subscription databases, and previously submitted student papers. Turnitin also lets students view similarity reports (if the instructor permits students to do so).

Many Franklin University classes require students to use Turnitin. When an instructor decides to use Turnitin for a class, it will be embedded in Canvas.
