How to Use the Library

The Franklin University Library is part of Franklin University's Learning Commons which includes the library, tutoring and testing.

This guide provides starting information about how to use the library, including tips and information about how to search for content using library resources. This guide includes the following information about library and Learning Commons services:

• Library Help and Resources includes: video tutorials, links to helpful research guides, and information about research coaching and library chat;
• Learning Commons Support provides information about other Learning Commons services which may help students, including academic advising, tutoring, structured learning assistance, workshops, and grammarly.

This guide also provides information about searching the library, including information about how to: 

• search the library's databases, including information about developing a search strategy and using the searchbox on the library's home page;
• look for journals and search for specific articles;
• find books and ebooks;
• conduct country research;
• search for company and industry information; and
• locate government and statistical sources of information.

Whenever the Learning Commons is open, a librarian is available to help you with your research questions. We are open virtually 7 days a week (except for holidays). Check our website for daily and holiday hours.
