How to Research a Country
Begin by researching your country in the library's country databases (see "Library Databases" tab in the Country Databases and Websites box, below). In your research you will locate many resources:
Country profiles offer overviews of country information including economic, political and societal information.
Reference sources like online encyclopedias provide detailed country information on areas of customs, religion, etc.
Journal and magazines provide scholarly articles on many aspects of countries.
News articles offer current country information as well as global viewpoints on controversial issues.
Index, abstracts, and full text covering scholarly business journals on management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and much more.
Provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.
Presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world.
Country guides to communication styles, displays of emotion, dress, punctuality, and formality, stereotypes, preferred managerial qualities, conflict in the workplace, etc. Produced by the Canadian government.
